Vehicle Diagnostic Testing

Modern cars & vehicles are made to highlight issues with the car. However, when a warning light or fault code has appeared on your dashboard it can often cause concern. Our car engine diagnostic tests can help identify and troubleshoot potential issues with your vehicle.

When car warning lights appear on your dashboard, most people will tend to react. However, an engine diagnostics check can help identify issues in advance of a warning light appearing. Therefore, allowing you to deal with issues before more serious damage occurs.

Most modern vehicles contain an on-board compute; Aka – an Engine Control Unit (ECU). The ECU continually monitors the performance of the vehicle. The car sensors all around the vehicle report back to the ECU if there are any problems.

Car Engine Diagnostic Check

Typical issues the ECU would flag is low fluid levels or increased engine temperature. Additionally, you may get updates on tyre pressure and brakes. When something is not functioning correctly, the engine control unit generates an error code to the relevant dashboard warning lights and a light will be displayed.

However, while a warning light may display on the dashboard alerting you to an issue, a diagnostics check is required to understand the full extent and cause of the problem. As there are hundreds of potential error codes that can only be read by specialist vehicle diagnostic equipment.

At MTC Garage our vehicle diagnostic check will read the engine fault codes in your ECU’s memory. Our fully trained motor technicians can then suggest any necessary servicing or repairs.

The car diagnostic test checks for faults across a wide range of vehicle systems including engine management, tyres, emissions, lights, and comfort controls. Plus, a report can be reproduced from the cars data to advise that components are working as expected.

Our diagnostic equipment can also be used to reset faults and the ECU fault codes will provide a fault code report for the following:
Air Conditioning | Brakes | Batteries | Exhausts | Engine Treatments | Bulbs | Diagnostics | Suspension | Wheel Alignment | Windscreen Wipers.
